Workshops & Seminars

The Centre devotes itself to educating healthcare professionals at frontline and equipping them with evidence-based intervention techniques. Our philosophy is not grounded in a particular theoretical orientation

(e.g., psychodynamic, person centered, cognitive behavioral). Rather, we are receptive to diverse intellectual traditions and techniques. Underlying this diversity, however, are unifying principles:

  • Creative synthesis of East-West learning

  • Integration of theory and practice

  • A holistic-systemic perspective

  • Prevention first

  • Action oriented

Training workshops by international speakers The Centre regularly invites world-renowned academics to visit and share their expertise with the local audience. Past speakers include Dr Robert Neimeyer, former President of the Association for Death Education and Counseling; Dr David Spiegel, Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine; and Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, the author of the international bestseller Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life (Hyperion, 1994).
